Operating SOP
1. Pre-operation checklist
• Filter cloths — CLEAN, DRY, NO TEARS (hold to light to check — any tear = replace)
• All 7 plates correctly aligned and uniformly tightened
• Inlet and outlet valves — no leaks
• Collection vessel at outlet — clean and dry

2. Start-up procedure
1. Ensure filter cloths seated on all 7 plates
2. Tighten pressing screw UNIFORMLY — not one-sided

2. Tighten pressing screw UNIFORMLY — not one-sided
3. Pour crude oil into inlet slowly
4. Initial flow will be slow — normal as cloths prime
5. Rated output 30 L/hr — if drops below 15 L/hr, cloths saturated — STOP, clean, reload
6. Check outlet oil clarity: should be clear golden — cloudiness = filter cloth issue

• Open press — remove cloths — wash with warm water and mild soap — rinse thoroughly
• HANG TO DRY COMPLETELY before next use — wet cloths = water contamination
• Wipe press frame
• Log: oil in | filtered oil out | cloth condition

6. Safety / PPE
• Tighten screw evenly — uneven pressure causes oil leakage and plate cracking
7. Troubleshooting
Flow below 15 L/hr despite clean cloths — inspect for blocked inlet or damaged plate seal
